Welcome Message 

It is a great pleasure for the Skills Training And Rehabilitation Society (STARS) to finding the opportunity of apprising its readers on its overall services provided to the poorest and front most vulnerable men and women of the country, through this webpage.

 STARS is gratified of its dedicated and hardworking staff, whom have endeavored hard in transferring of the on handed supports to the target communities in a best manner and paving the ground for STARS to achieve all its set targets during this year. During this period STARS staff had tried their best to work with the community in participatory manner, involved them in all the process of project design and implementation, and sought their viewpoint on each step that it had taken to their interest.

 STARS, by utilizing its rich experience gained during the years of working with the communities and other stakeholders, is working with the needy communities at a time that conditions are getting further hard and rather risky due to the deterioration of security situations in its target areas. However, its dedicated staff have never abandoned its target areas and continued serving those who really need help to survive or to develop their livelihood.

 It’s to mention that STARS so far has met the communities' requirements and acceptance of government and donor's satisfaction with which our staff have maintained very cordial ties of cooperation and have always shared their experience to rectify the shortcomings and ensure sound implementation process of projects and programs.

 STARS feels proud that it has left behind a prosperous year with full of positive achievements and got satisfactory experiences wining the hearts of its beneficiaries and the confidence of the respective donors that had assist it to move forward.

STARS management believe that all those achievements has been the by-product of the sincere services of its staff and the hard work that they put up and resisted all obstacles and problems, but their main aim was to attain the objective they had set for them.

STARS appreciates and values the dedicated assistance and persistent support of NCA/AP during the years of 2005-2008 in Daikundi and Faryab provinces and from 2008-2010 in Daikundi province of Afghanistan. STARS understands all these supports have been quite helping and precious, for this we offer our heartily thanks and gratitude to the NCA/AP and the Norwegian people who are assisting our people for long years. 

In addition, STARS cannot overlook the honest, sincere and dedicated cooperation of the government, community represented by its local Shura, the donor organizations and the STARS staff deserves all praise for their all-out cooperation during the past year.

It deserves to convey our special thanks to our respected donors (Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), World bank/MoE, IRD and ARD/USAID, United States Agency for International Development USAID, International Rescue Committee (IRC), World vision International, Christina Aid (CA), Oxfam GB, TROCAIRE, CARE International) whom  supported STARS stepping forward and serving the most vulnerable and needy communities in the rural and remote areas of the country.

STARS would also like to thank the Asian Disaster Reduction & Response Network (ADRRN) for its cooperative and helping supports towards building the capacity of STARS in Disaster Management Sphere through inviting STARS's staff in different workshops and/or conferences in India, Malaysia, Nepal and other Asian counties.

Moreover, STARS is a core member in CoAR's Network, established in 2008 with the initiatives of Coordination of Afghan Relief (CoAR), Organization for Sustainable Development and Research (OSDR), and Skills Training and Rehabilitation Society (STARS). The network plays an important role in developing a trusting image for the network members within the National and International agencies' society as well as developing the partner agencies a sense of specialization and having more positive impacted activities.  

Hereby we are pleased to present summary of our activities during the past ten years with the hope that this may meet our dear visitors’ satisfaction.
